Children’s Village, LSSI’s early-learning center in Fort Wayne, has received a $7,500 grant from the PNC Foundation’s Grow up Great Initiative.
Children’s Village is a state-licensed facility providing a wide range of educational, social, and recreational activities for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. The center uses the High Scope Curriculum as it prepares students for kindergarten and beyond. Scholarships are available, making tuition affordable for qualifying low-income families.
PNC Grow Up Great® and PNC Crezca con Éxito form a $350 million program dedicated to helping prepare America’s youngest children for great things in school and life.In 2004, while continuing to support local philanthropic initiatives, PNC adopted a corporate-wide program focusing resources on early-childhood education to make a tremendous impact. To date, the program has served approximately 2 million children throughout 19 states and the District of Columbia.
“The PNC Foundation has demonstrated their commitment to early-childhood education with their continued support that allows us to pursue our mission to prepare young people to be lifelong learners, “says Children’s Village Director Kathy Lehman. “Our students are at an age when establishing an appreciation for education—a thirst for knowledge—is so very crucial.”
