Justice Bread

Justice Bread is an ongoing Lutheran Social Services of Indiana (LSSI) fundraising effort to provide financial assistance for individuals and families.

This program is made possible through a partnership with the Indiana Baking Company and volunteers within several congregations. Volunteers from these congregations sell fresh-baked wheat, white, and specialty breads at their churches. Loaves of bread are sold for $3. Half of that comes back to the Cup of Kindness Program, which provides assistance to individuals and families with financial need.

Each month the Cup of Kindness program provides approximately

  • $7,000 in rent/shelter assistance
  • $150 in food vouchers and bus passes
  • $500 in utility assistance
