Christmas Program: The annual Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program provides assistance to Lutheran Social Services of Indiana families. This two-day program allows volunteers the opportunity to greet and assist sponsors with the unloading of donated gifts (day 1) and to help LSSI families with loading their Christmas gifts into their vehicles (day 2). This program is held at a remote location, and this volunteer opportunity may consist of light lifting and physical activity.
Justice Bread Wrapping: Justice Bread (loaves of bread offered in three different flavors) is sold monthly to area businesses and congregations. The proceeds assist families through the Cup of Kindness program. Each December, specially wrapped bread is offered for the holiday season. Volunteers help cut cellophane, print and cut labels, and wrap loaves of bread.
Children’s Village Volunteer: Children’s Village is an intergenerational learning center in partnership with Lutheran Life Villages. Children’s Village serves children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. A volunteer in this position interacts with children in a meaningful way that has a positive impact on the lives of children.
